Foundation Gathering Groups

The Foundation for Contemporary Theology sponsors small discussion groups called Foundation Gathering Groups. These Groups meet weekly to discuss many issues of contemporary theology, including the Quest for the Historical Jesus. If you are not yet part of a Foundation Gathering Group, consider this: The early Christian church was called "The Way" and met in homes or small gatherings where people could feel safe to share their new-found faith and beliefs. We offer you this same kind of opportunity to share, doubt and question in a safe atmosphere of love and acceptance. We welcome you and any friends who want to talk about their own faith journey.

Currently, there are six Foundation Gathering Groups. If interested in visiting one, please contact the following:

South Houston Sunday Group meets from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. (6006 Sanford Road, near W. Bellfort and Hillcroft) = Call Michael Jost at 713-729-4954 (home) or 281-415-8004 (cell)

Spring Branch Sunday Group meets from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. = Call Bob Tucker at 713-468-5607

Herman Park Monday Group meets from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. (St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 5501 South Main in the Parlor) = Call Dottie Burge at 713-664-4143

Daytime-Downntown Wednesday Group (brown bag lunch) meets from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 501 South Main, Jones Building, Room J202)= Call St. Paul's at 713-528-0527 or FCT at 713-668-2345 (Kay Holmes, Faciliator)

Bellaire Thursday Group meets from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. (pot luck supper)= Call Gerald O'Keefe at 713-778-8529

North Houston Gathering. The sixth group is in the process of being formed. Please contact Karyl Paige at 1-281-292-6503 or email at ap1983@sbcglobal.net. The geographic area for this group is North to Willis, East to Kingwood, West to Tomball and South to North Houston/Spring.
